Moon sign — Astrology glossary
The Moon sign is the zodiac sign the Moon occupied at birth. Because the Moon moves quickly, changing sign every two to three days, it often requires the birth date and sometimes the time to pin down. Astrologers read it as the inner, emotional self: instinctive reactions, what makes a person feel safe, and private needs that the outward Sun sign may hide. It matters because it describes how someone processes feeling rather than how they present, which is why two people with the same Sun sign can have very different emotional lives. For example, a person with the Moon in Scorpio tends to feel things intensely and privately, guarding their reactions and trusting slowly, even if their Sun sign is breezy and sociable like Gemini.
