Chiron — Astrology glossary
Chiron is a small body orbiting between Saturn and Uranus, classified as a centaur and discovered in 1977. In a natal chart it is known as the wounded healer: the placement that describes a recurring vulnerability a person never quite outgrows but can learn to work with and teach from. It matters because its house and sign often pinpoint where someone feels chronically not-good-enough, alongside the very area where they end up helping others. For example, Chiron in the third house can show early difficulty being heard or believed, later turning into a gift for explaining things clearly. Astrologers read its aspects to personal planets closely, since those connections show how directly the wound is felt.
