Trine — Astrology glossary
A trine is an aspect in which two planets sit about 120 degrees apart, connecting signs of the same element such as two fire signs. Astrologers read it as the easiest, most harmonious aspect: the two functions cooperate naturally, granting talent or flow in their shared area. It matters because trines show where things come without struggle, the gifts a person may take for granted precisely because they require little effort. The flip side is complacency, since easy abilities are easy to neglect. For example, a person with the Moon trine Jupiter often has a naturally warm, optimistic emotional outlook and bounces back from setbacks readily, but because the resilience comes so easily, they may never develop it consciously or appreciate how unusual it is.
