Void of course Moon — Astrology glossary

A void-of-course Moon is a timing condition, not a placement, describing the stretch when the Moon will make no more major aspects to other planets before it leaves the sign it is in. In a natal chart, a person born during this period is sometimes read as more self-contained or less swayed by the immediate emotional weather around them. It matters mainly in electional and horary astrology, where the void Moon traditionally signals that little will come of an action started then. For example, a contract signed under a void Moon was classically expected to fizzle or change. In natal work the effect is treated as subtle, a slight loosening of how readily a person reacts to others.
